Welcome

The Oklahoma Red Carpet Academic Conference originated in the fall of 1990 with a coaches’ meeting being held at Gage High School.  Subsequent meetings were held to write a constitution which would help provide quality academic competition for years to come. Eighteen Class A and Class B schools were invited to join.

The conference was divided into two sides— East and West.

The West Side is currently represented by Hooker, Hardesty, Texhoma, Keyes, Yarbrough, Boise City, Goodwell, and Felt.

The East Side is represented by Beaver, Laverne, Buffalo, Fargo, Fort Supply, Shattuck, Turpin, and Forgan.  Most of the original schools still maintain their membership after many years of competition.

  Academic Play

The conference follows OSSAA rules for academic bowl competition. Academic play consists of two round-robin tournaments held on each side.  The winner of the East Side tournaments plays the winner of the West Side tournaments at the annual awards banquet in December.  This competition determines the overall conference champion.
